Raúl Cantizano & David Cordero

Este es un nuevo proyecto colaborativo entre el músico, guitarrista de flamenco, artista e improvisador, afincado en Sevilla, Raúl Cantizano y el artista gaditano David Cordero, quien es un prolífico músico de ambient, afincado en Cádiz.

Cantizano es considerado por la prensa especializada un “inclasificable y único, un explorador de los límites del instrumento y de los géneros”. Posee varios discos en solitario y en colaboración con otros artistas, así como bandas sonoras, improvisaciones y su participación en festivales como Sónar.

Colabora en dos canciones de este álbum (”Mi centro vine a encontrar” y “Algo a lo que regresar”), Lela Soto, aclamada por la crítica como una de las voces jóvenes con más proyección del panorama flamenco actual y heredera del legado de La Casa de Los Sordera, emblemática casa-museo en Jerez de la Frontera, España, conocida por su rica historia ligada al flamenco.

En relación a este disco, David Cordero confiesa que “sentía la necesidad de incorporar mis raíces al sonido que vengo explorando desde hace años…” Y claro, David siendo andaluz, el flamenco es la banda sonora que lo acompaña en los paisajes de Cádiz que él admira.

“Aunque llegue la mañana” fue lanzado el 18 de julio de 2025 por Noray Records, sello creado por Cordero con el propósito de velar por el paso del tiempo y el deterioro de la memoria. Sus ediciones son en formato de casete en tiradas limitadas.

“Aunque llegue la mañana” -que contiene 11 canciones- es un disco intimista que crea atmósferas apacibles en las que dialogan los suaves acordes de la guitarra de Raúl Cantizano y los lienzos ambientales electrónicos de David Cordero. A esto se agrega el canto onírico -en las mencionadas canciones- de Lela Soto que flirtea con las nubes.

La guitarra de Cantizano se despliega a través de sutiles punteos como a través de los suaves acordes que inaugura en “Levante” que abre este álbum. “Algo a lo que regresar (feat Lela Soto)” genera un plácido ambiente reinante que se realza con el canto angelical de Lela Soto. En “Fragmento ausente” la guitarra se desenvuelve con soltura, en tanto sus cuerdas son frotadas junto a pequeñas texturas electrónicas. “Todavía hay sol” es una pieza luminosa que esparce melodías edificantes que se desearía fueran infinitas.

“Mi centro vine a encontrar (feat Lela Soto)” introduce el rasgueo característico del flamenco que luego da paso a un puñado de cuerdas que hilvanan una bella frase, mientras en lo alto de todo, se pasea la sutil voz de Lela Soto. “Cinco duros” es otra magnífica pieza donde la guitarra desarrolla un diálogo etéreo, que sólo viene a confirmar la calidez y excelencia de este álbum, mientras “Luz que asoma”, que cierra este disco, continúa en una atmósfera de ensueño.

Raúl Cantizano y David Cordero urden en un entorno minimalista, canciones arraigas en las raíces de ambos músicos, quienes de seguro continuarán en este viaje sin límites.

This is a new collaborative project between Raúl Cantizano, a musician, flamenco guitarist, artist and improviser based in Seville and, David Cordero, who is a prolific ambient musician based in Cádiz.

Cantizano is considered by the specialized press to be ‘unclassifiable and unique, an explorer of the limits of the instrument and genres’. He has several solo albums and collaborations with other artists, as well as soundtracks, improvisations and participation in festivals such as Sónar.

Collaborates on two songs on this album (‘Mi centro vine a encontrar’ and ‘Algo a lo que regresar’), Lela Soto, critically acclaimed as one of the most promising young voices on the current flamenco scene and heir to the legacy of La Casa de Los Sordera, an emblematic house-museum in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, known for its rich history linked to flamenco.

Regarding this album, David Cordero confesses that ‘I felt the need to incorporate my roots into the sound I have been exploring for years…’ And of course, David being Andalusian, flamenco is the soundtrack that accompanies him in the landscapes of Cadiz that he admires.

‘Aunque llegue la mañana’ was released on 18 July 2025 by Noray Records, a label created by Cordero with the aim of preserving the passage of time and the deterioration of memory. Its releases are in cassette format in a limited run.

‘Aunque llegue la mañana,’ which contains 11 songs, is an intimate album that creates peaceful atmospheres in which the soft chords of Raúl Cantizano’s guitar and David Cordero’s ambient electronic soundscapes dialogue. Added to this is the dreamlike singing of Lela Soto which flirts with the clouds.

Cantizano’s guitar unfolds through subtle strumming and soft chords that open the album with ‘Levante.’ ‘Algo a lo que regresar (feat Lela Soto)’ creates a peaceful atmosphere that is enhanced by Lela Soto’s angelic singing. In ‘Fragmento ausente,’ the guitar unfolds with ease, its strings rubbed together with small electronic textures. ‘Todavía hay sol’ is a luminous piece that spreads uplifting melodies that one wishes were endlessly.

‘Mi centro vine a encontrar (feat Lela Soto)’ introduces the characteristic strumming of flamenco, which then gives way to a handful of strings that weave a beautiful phrase, while Lela Soto’s subtle voice floats above it all. ‘Cinco duros’ is another magnificent piece where the guitar develops an ethereal dialogue, which only confirms the warmth and excellence of this album, while ‘Luz que asoma,’ which closes the album, continues in a dreamlike atmosphere.

Raúl Cantizano and David Cordero weave in a minimalist environment songs rooted in the roots of both musicians, who surely will continue on this journey without limits.
