Ellen Fullman es una compositora, fabricante de instrumentos e intérprete estadounidense, con más de 40 años promoviendo el Instrumento de Cuerda Larga, por el cual ha sido reconocida en la escena musical de vanguardia.

Ellen Fullman is an American composer, instrument maker, and performer who has spent more than 40 years focusing the Long String Instrument, for which she has been recognized in the avant-garde music scene.
Her musical cultural heritage was nourished in the 1950s and 1960s by soul, gospel, blues, and rock ‘n’ roll genres. Later, in 1981, she began working on her creation of this resonant long-string instrument, which can range in size from 13 to 30 meters, depending on where it is installed.
After living in several cities in the United States, she settled in California, becoming an integral part of the vibrant Bay Area scene.
Fullman plays the instrument with her fingers along its length while walking, playing several strings at once that are grouped together and attached to wooden sound boxes.
On this album, Ellen Fullman plays the Long String Instrument, box bow, and shovelette. She is accompanied by The Living Earth Show, composed of Travis Andrews on box bow, shoveler, Hawaiian steel guitar, and Andy Meyerson on box bow, shoveler, and santur (hammered Persian dulcimer).
‘Elemental View’ is like a soundboard on which different harmonics can be heard as Fullman moves across the Long String Instrument, from expansive pieces to more intimate ones. Among the former is ‘Dream Branch | Intimate Glint’ with its ambient string canvases, while among the more intimate pieces, the languid chords of the Hawaiian guitar unfold fluidly on ‘Environmental Memory.’
