El sello de Hamburgo Bureau B -con un importante catálogo de reediciones y nuevas producciones- publica una reedición especial del segundo disco de la banda, «Allez-Téia» (Heldon II) y el tercero, «It’s Always Rock ‘n’ Roll» (Heldon III), a 50 años de sus ediciones originales en 1975.
Heldon es una banda de space-rock de París, formada en 1974 y liderada por Richard Pinhas.
«Allez-Téia» (Heldon II) navega entre lo eléctrico y acústico con la creación de ambientes aéreos, a través de guitarras distorsionadas y sintetizadores, con guiños al rock progresivo y la psicodelia.
«It’s Always Rock’n’Roll» es el tercer disco de Heldon publicado por el sello de Pinhas, Disjuncta en 1975 y que será reseñado en esta oportunidad.
Se caracteriza por realizar largos viajes que el propio Pinhas explica en la nota de prensa: “Hay imperativos. Puedes hacer algo muy complejo con muchos acontecimientos en cuatro minutos y luego hay otras cosas que hay que hacer muy lentamente. Tienes que hacer la duración que exige”.
En “Cotes De Cachalot A La Psylocybine” se despliega un drone, arpegios sintetizados y fuzz de guitarra, en línea con la kosmische musik. “Cocaine Blues” muestra una línea melódica con tintes barrocos que evoca al grupo inglés King Crimson, que Pinhas tanto admira. Así también “Aurore” tiene ese aire ceremonial cortesano, en tanto la lánguida guitarra de “Ocean Boogi” extiende un remolino que entra en un espiral hipnótico, mientras en “Zind Destruction (Bouillie Blues)” los punteos de guitarra se alternan con los ecos de delays. Para finalizar el álbum, “Doctor Bloodmoney” devela un movimiento recurrente que va y vuelve a través de los arpegios del sintetizador.
El músico y filósofo francés es un adelantado a su tiempo, pues siempre está empujando las fronteras de la psicodelia, el rock progresivo y el Krautrock, posicionando a Richard Pinhas como unos de los precursores del rock espacial, entregándole alas para expandirse hacia nuevos territorios, creando atmósferas hipnóticas y evocando el espacio exterior.
The Hamburg label Bureau B—with an impressive catalog of reissues and new productions—is releasing a special reissue of the band’s second album, ‘Allez-Téia’ (Heldon II), and third album, ‘It’s Always Rock ‘n’ Roll’ (Heldon III), 50 years after their original releases in 1975.

‘It’s Always Rock’n’Roll’ is Heldon’s third album, released by Pinhas’ label Disjuncta in 1975, which will be reviewed here.
It is characterized by long journeys, which Pinhas himself explains in the press release: «There are imperatives. You can do something very complex with many events in four minutes, and then there are other things that have to be done very slowly. You have to make it last as long as it needs to.»
In ‘Cotes De Cachalot A La Psylocybine,’ a drone, synthesized arpeggios, and guitar fuzz unfold, in line with kosmische musik. ‘Cocaine Blues’ features a melodic line with baroque overtones that evokes the English band King Crimson, which Pinhas admires so much. To conclude the album, ‘Doctor Bloodmoney’ reveals a recurring movement that comes and goes through the arpeggios of the synthesizer.
The French musician and philosopher is ahead of his time, always pushing the boundaries of psychedelia, progressive rock, and Krautrock, positioning Richard Pinhas as one of the precursors of space rock, giving him wings to expand into new territories, creating hypnotic atmospheres and evoking the outer space.
