She Spread Sorrow está formado desde 2014 por la artista italiana Alice Kundalini y el compositor electrónico Luca Sigurtà, activo desde principios de la década de 2000. El dúo tiene seis álbumes editados en la disquera británica Cold Spring Records y el sello de Nevada The Helen Scarsdale Agency dirigido por el músico y crítico musical (otrora escribió para The Wire) Jim Haynes.
She Spread Sorrow producen una mezcla de power electronics, noise y atisbos al post-industrial acompañado de textos con cargas esotéricas, inspirándose en The Black Pullet, un grimorio francés del siglo XVIII repleto de instrucciones para fabricar talismanes y artefactos mágicos que devienen en prácticas ocultistas.
“The Grimorian Tapes” -editado por The Helen Scarsdale Agency el 23 de mayo de 2025- consiste en nueve piezas que combinan sonidos digitales y análogos, configurando una masa sonora ruidosa, polvorienta que desprende esquirlas de estática y glitches, junto a un discurso oscuro de larga letanía, emparentado con el ocultismo.
She Spread Sorrow despliegan un ritmo lento y repetitivo que se ve envuelto en loops con un discurso sacado de algún pregonero, mientras las capas ambientales se vuelven inquietantes y sombrías.
She Spread Sorrow is founded in 2014 by Italian artist Alice Kundalini and electronic composer Luca Sigurtà, active since the early 2000s. The duo has released six albums on the UK label Cold Spring Records and in the Nevada imprint The Helen Scarsdale label, run by musician and music critic (formerly of The Wire) Jim Haynes.
She Spread Sorrow produces a mix of power electronics, noise, and hints of post-industrial, accompanied by esoteric lyrics, drawing inspiration from The Black Pullet, an 18th-century French grimoire filled with instructions for making talismans and magical artifacts that lead to occult practices.
“The Grimorian Tapes”—released by The Helen Scardale on May 23, 2025— consists of nine pieces with a blend of digital and analog sounds, creating a noisy, dusty mass of sound that gives off sparks of static and glitches, along with a dark, long litany of discourse related to the occult.
She Spread Sorrow unfolds a slow, repetitive rhythm enveloped in loops with a discourse taken from some town crier, while the ambient layers become disturbing and gloomy.
