Voices From The Lake
Los italianos Donato Dozzy (Donato Scaramuzzi) y Neel (Giuseppe Tillieci) forman Voices From The Lake quienes debutaron en 2011 con el EP de cuatro temas “Silent Drops”, publicado por el ahora desparecido sello alemán Prologue. A partir de entonces han publicado varios discos, siendo el último de ellos el álbum “II” (Two) editado el 5 de diciembre 2025 en su propio sello Spazio Disponibile.
El nombre del dúo Voices From the Lake tiene su origen en la primavera de 2010, cuando Donato Dozzy se casó junto al lago de Sabaudia, una pequeña localidad de la región italiana el Lacio. En dicha oportunidad concurrieron varios artistas amigos y fue allí donde Neel actuó en la madrugada del día siguiente. Producto de ello Neel grabó una cinta como regalo para Dozzy y su entonces esposa, la artista y diseñadora Koto Hirai, la que tituló “Voices From The Lake”.
Esta nueva placa consiste en nueve tracks de ambient techno; que evoca por momentos al dúo alemán Sun Electric por sus suaves palpitaciones rítmicas y las líneas ambientales de Sam Shackleton.
“II” tiene una versión continuada que mezcla los tracks (y otra que define cada tema), permitiendo que el álbum muestre una continuidad, apreciándose una base rítmica homogénea y líneas armónicas. Arranca el álbum con “Eos” que insinúa que el disco se desarrolla progresivamente en una atmósfera envolvente con delicados beats que empiezan a develarse en “Bespin” y que ya toman forma en “Aquateo”; con un beat algo más pronunciado y que se acompaña de un video promocional con el mismo nombre. Le sigue “Montenero” que comienza a desplegar líneas sintetizadas algo ácidas, al estilo del sintetizador de bajo, Roland. “Manuark”, en tanto, desarrolla un beat persistente, junto a notas aéreas del sintetizador que oscurecen el ambiente. Con “Asterios” uno se deja llevar por el ritmo sutil para adentrarse en un espacio cadencioso e inspirador. La penúltima“ pista, «Blue Noa”, despliega un beat tipo motorik que se siente enérgico y penetrante, junto a una línea ambiental épica. “Ian”, que cierra el álbum, lo hace con unas notas sintéticas sacadas de alguna bella canción de cuento infantil.
El carácter hipnótico de las atmósferas de «II» son el aliciente perfecto para mover nuestro cuerpo en coherencia con lo que sentimos: gratitud, entusiasmo y liviandad.

Since then, they have released several records as the latest album titled ‘II’ (Two), released on 5 December 2025 on their label Spazio Disponibile.
The name of the duo Voices From the Lake has its origins in the spring of 2010, when Donato Dozzy got married by the lake in Sabaudia, a small town in the Italian Lazio region. Several artist friends attended the wedding, and it was there that Neel performed in the early hours of the following day. As a result, Neel recorded a tape as a gift for Dozzy and his then-wife, artist and designer Koto Hirai, which he titled ‘Voices From The Lake’.
This new album consists of nine ambient techno tracks, at times reminiscent of the German duo Sun Electric with their soft rhythmic pulsations and Sam Shackleton’s ambient lines.
‘II’ has a continuous version that mixes the tracks (and another that defines each track), allowing the album to show continuity, with a homogeneous rhythmic base and harmonic lines. The album kicks off with ‘Eos’, which hints that the record will progressively develop into an enveloping atmosphere with delicate beats that begin to unfold on ´Bespin’ and take shape in ‘Aquateo’, with a slightly more pronounced beat accompanied by a promotional video of the same name. This is followed by ‘Montenero,’ which begins to unfold somewhat acidic synthesized lines, in the style of the Roland bass synthesizer. Whereas ‘Manuark,’ unfurls a persistent beat, along with airy synthesizer notes that darken the atmosphere. With ‘Asterios,’ one is carried away by the subtle rhythm that draws into an inspiring space. The penultimate track, ‘Blue Noa,’ unfolds a motorik-style beat that feels energetic and penetrating, alongside an epic ambient line. ‘Ian,’ which closes the album, does so with synthetic notes taken from a beautiful children’s story song.
The hypnotic nature of the atmospheres on ‘II’ are the perfect way to move our bodies in harmony with what we feel: gratitude, enthusiasm and lightness.
