Reche & Pinkler, “Bruma EP”, Natural Media, 2005

Este es el primer lanzamiento del netlabel argentino Natural Media que tiene como propósito difundir las propuestas de músicos argentinos e internacionales. La primera referencia es de Pablo Reche e Ismael Pinkler. Este último está involucrado desde 2001 en la música electrónica en la que ha experimentado en el ambiente del software musical, creando su primera obra «Brillo» que editó en su propio sello de CD-R Forma.

Pinkler a finales de 2005 se presentó en la versión Micro Mutek que realizó dicha organización canadiense en Buenos Aires. Reche en tanto, es un artista del ruido, que tiene editado varios discos en sellos de la Argentina y Europa, en donde se ha presentado en festivales como el Observatori de Valencia, en el mítico bar de música experimental «Radar» de Madrid, en Mutek de Montreal y su versión argentina y en Sónar.

Lo que tenemos aquí es una simbiosis de ruido y ambient, dos componentes que se combinan perfectamente en la forma de este «Bruma EP». «Camino» y «Nubes» me parece que tienen más influencias de Pinkler por sus bases rítmicas, en tanto «Riel» tiene lo anterior, pero con fuerte énfasis en los drones y siseos que caracterizan a Reche. «Vapor» definitivamente es el pasaje que se necesita para hacer volar la imaginación: una muralla de drones que revelan preciosas melodías y percusiones de polvo digital. Creo que este viaje podría haber continuado, siendo «Vapor» una veta a seguir explorando por este circunstancial dúo.

Reche & Pinkler, ‘Bruma EP’, Natural Media, 2005

This is the first release of Argentine Natural Media netlabel which purpose is to be an output for Argentine and international artists. The first reference is for Pablo Reche and Ismael Pinkler. This last is involved since 2001 in the electronic music scene in which he has experimented with software design, creating his first work ‘Brillo’ released in his own CD-R label Forma.

Pinkler, in December 2005, played live at the Micro Mutek that the Canadian organization held in Buenos Aires. Reche, a noise maker artist, has published several discs in several labels of Argentina and Europe where he has performed in festivals such as Observatori from Valencia, at the mythical ‘Radar’ experimental bar in Madrid, at Montreal’s Mutek and its Argentine version and at Sónar in Barcelona.

What we have here is a symbiosis of noise and ambient, two components that are combined perfectly in the form of this ‘Bruma EP’. ‘Camino’ and ‘Nubes’ seem to be more influenced by Pinkler due to their rhythm, as well as ‘Riel’, but with a strong emphasis on drones and hiss which is more characteristic of Reche. ‘Vapor’ definitively is the passage that is needed to make the imagination fly: a powerful wall of drones that reveals gorgeous melodies, and percussions made of digital dust.

I believe that this trip could have been endless, with ‘Vapor’ being a vein to continue exploring by this circumstantial duo.
