CECILIA es una artista y compositora originaria de Kamouraska, en la zona rural de Quebec (Canadá). Su discografía comprende el primer EP “Charity Whore” de 2017 bajo la etiqueta de Grooming Label, seguido de su LP debut “Adoration” publicado en Halcyon Veil en 2018 y “Summer in Sexilia” editado en Xquisite Releases en 2021.
CECILIA es una suerte de nómade quien luego de trabajar en Montreal, Nueva York y Nápoles, actualmente reside en París. Se ha presentado en escenarios en Europa y Norteamérica.
Su nuevo álbum “Choeur” (coro de cantores) – que cuenta con los músicos invitados Adrien Belkout en el contrabajo y Low Lov en contribuciones vocales -, fue lanzado por el sello italiano Haunter Records que comprende once composiciones electroacústicas que contienen sonidos orgánicos y sintéticos que se develan de sus movimientos corporales. junto a un trabajo vocal que incluye la respiración es parte central en el despliegue musical de CECILIA, junto a una plasticidad escénica, el canto en inglés y francés, las texturas electrónicas y las frases de piano, le otorgan a la música de CECILIA soltura y misticismo a través de los ejercicios corales.
Cada canción de este álbum, junto con la voz alada y teatral de CECILIA, transporta a diferentes territorios; algunos de ellos desgarradoramente espectrales y misteriosos, otros condescendientes y acogedores.
CECILIA is an artist and songwriter originally from Kamouraska in rural Quebec, Canada. CECILIA is a nomad of sorts who after working in Montreal, New York and Naples, currently resides in Paris. She has performed on stages in Europe and North America.
Her new album ‘Choeur’ (choir of singers) – featuring guest musicians Adrien Belkout on double bass and Low Lov on vocal contributions – was released by the Italian label Haunter Records and comprises eleven electro-acoustic compositions containing organic and synthetic sounds that are unveiled from her body movements. The vocal work that includes breathing is a central part of CECILIA’s musical display, together with a scenic plasticity, singing in English and French, electronic textures and piano phrases, give CECILIA’s music a sense of ease and mysticism through her choral exercises.
Each song on this album together with CECILIA’s winged and theatrical vocals conveys to different territories; some of them heartbreakingly spectral and mysterious, others condescending and cozy.
