Depth Affect, “Arche-Lymb”, Autres Directions In Music, 2006

Este es el primer larga duración del dúo francés compuesto por Remy Charrier, David Bideau, el DJ Kalmook y el V/Dj Xavier Brunet. Desde «Terminus», la remezcla que hicieron para Melodium en su «Parthenay EP», tuvo un fuerte acento puesto en el hip-hop con arreglos electrónicos que en este disco están fuertemente marcados por los samples de voces, efectos como scratches, glitches, además incorporaciones de guitarra acústica y eléctrica. Los arreglos se utilizan con bastante oportunidad y gusto y en esta oportunidad los temas tienen una aproximación más orientada a la canción.
Si bien podemos encontrar atisbos a artistas o grupos conocidos como Sixtoo, o Boards Of Canada, Depth Affect logran que su propuesta suene vigente y fresca.

This is the full-length album of the French pair comprised of Remy Charrier, David Bideau, DJ Kalmook and V/Dj Xavier Brunet. Since ‘Terminus’, their remix for Melodium in his ‘Parthenay EP’, had a strong accent put in hip-hop with electronic arrangements that in this disc strongly are marked by samples of voices, effects like scratches, glitches, in addition incorporations of acoustic and electric guitar.
The arrangements are used with opportunity and taste and this time the tracks have an approach to pop songs.
Although we can find spyings to artists or groups known as Sixtoo, or Boards Of Canada, Depth Affect achieve that their proposal sound fresh.
