Nos llega la primera referencia en formato digital del sello inglés Sushitech, el cual también se dedica a editar vinilos. Los 4 temas de este EP se pueden bajar en mp3 en la tienda virtual de la afamada casa discográfica, distribuidora y sello alemán Kompakt, cada track cuesta 1.29 euros vía pago con tarjeta.
Franco Cangelli tiene orígenes italianos pero vive en Bélgica donde está involucrado en la escena local de ese país. Anteriormente editó por el sello belga Toys for Boys el 12″ “Spectre” y este año partirá con su propio sello Aesthetics.
Este EP parte con “Waste Of Mind”, un tema con ritmos y percusión hipnótica y liviana junto a melodías sutiles, un tema agradable y amigable, especial para refrescarse en una tarde calurosa de verano. El segundo, «Worm Theology» marca un quiebre por alejarse del 4×4 y centrarse en líneas de ritmo amorfas y mutantes junto a ruidos de fondo atmosféricos, un tema bastante experimental. «Science Of The Quirk», retoma la tónica del primer track el que me hace recordar cierto parentesco con los sellos Background y Cadenza. El último tema «Broken Mind Job» sigue con una base parecida, aunque un poco menos uniforme y deja de lado las melodías y lo reemplaza con sonidos extraños y efectos.
Buena primera edición digital del sello Sushitech, el que a pesar de ser nuevo tiene un largo y promisorio catálogo por delante.

It comes to my hands the first edition in digital format of the English label Sushitech, the one that edits 12″ vinyl’s at the same time. The 4 tracks of this EP are available via mp3 in the virtual store of the famous German record shop, distributor Kompakt label. Each track costs 1.29 euros by card.
Franco Cangelli has Italian roots but lives in Belgium where he’s involved in the local scene. He released before in the Belgian label Toys for Boys the 12″ ‘Spectre’ and this year he will begin his own label called Aesthetics.
This EP begins with ‘Waste of Mind’, a track with hypnotic and light rhythms, and percussions accompanied of subtle melodies. A pleasant and friendly track, special for having a refresh in a hot summer afternoon. The second one, ‘Worm Theology’, makes a break, going away from the 4×4 and focuses him in amorphous and mutant rhythm lines by the hand with atmospheric ambient melodies, an experimental track. ‘Science of the Quirk’, is back with the style of the first track and reminds me of some sounds of Cadenza and Background labels. The last track, ‘Broken Mind Job’ continues with a similar base but not so uniformed and leaves away the melodies and uses strange sounds and effects.
Nice first digital edition of Sushitech, a new label but with a long and promissory future catalog.
