PERIODE
PERIODE está formado desde 2016 por Andreas Reihse y Thomas Winkler afincados en Berlín, quienes han publicado cinco discos hasta ahora.
Reihse, más conocido como miembro fundador de Kreidler, también compone música para teatro y cine. En tanto Winkler es músico, pintor, fotógrafo y artista performativo.
«Grapes of Nothingness» -editado por Karl Records el 30 de enero 2026- consiste en nueve canciones urdidas por guitarras cristalinas, caja de ritmos, además de dispositivos electrónicos, con influencias en el post-punk, el Krautrock, evocando a grupos como The Durutti Column, Galaxy 500 y Felt, entre otros.
Con todo, PERIODE ofrece ambientes que acarician la calidez de melodías envolventes y ritmos palpitantes, donde todo ocurre sin contratiempos; fluyendo con el delay de las guitarras y sus efectos expansivos.
Su apertura con “Das Siebte Pferd“ teje melodías edificantes, mientras “Hohenschönhausen” de ritmo galopante, bien podría ser la banda sonora de alguna película del oeste que avanza entusiasta para seducir con su beat pegadizo. “New Trains” transita suavemente hacia un pop de vanguardia, mientras que “Ravetruck” está marcado por un beat, acompañado por un riff de guitarra y un acorde envuelto en un loop junto a ritmos hipnóticos. En la canción homónima, las guitarras despliegan ecos de delay sobre un ritmo seco y preciso, casi como un metrónomo».
En “Holz” las guitarras exhiben sus efectos de distorsión expansivos y abarcadores como una muralla de ruido, en contraste con “Club Chair» que expone bellos acordes y ritmos acogedores que se siguen desentrañando en su última canción “Periode No 6”.
PERIODE ha escrito, interpretado, grabado, mezclado y producido uno de los mejores discos de este año por su frescura melódica, exploraciones con la guitarra, el sonido ochentero de la caja de ritmos y un groove cautivador.

All in all, PERIODE offers atmospheres that caress the warmth of enveloping melodies and pulsating rhythms, where everything happens smoothly, flowing with the delay of the guitars and their expansive effects.
Its opening track, ‘Das Siebte Pferd,’ weaves uplifting melodies, while on ‘Hohenschönhausen,’ with its galloping rhythm, could well be the soundtrack to a western movie; enthusiastically seducing the listener with its catchy beat. ‘New Trains’ moves smoothly into avant-garde pop, while ‘Ravetruck’ is marked by a beat, accompanied by a guitar riff and a chord wrapped in a loop alongside hypnotic rhythms. In the self-titled song, the guitars deploy echoes of delay over a dry and precise rhythm, almost like a metronome.
On ‘Holz,’ the guitars display their expansive and comprehensive distortion effects like a wall of noise, in contrast to ‘Club Chair,’ which exposes beautiful chords and welcoming rhythms that continue to unravel in their latest song, ‘Periode No 6.’
PERIODE has written, performed, recorded, mixed, and produced one of this year’s best albums thanks to its melodic freshness, guitar explorations, 80s-style drum machine sound, and captivating groove.
