Wild Gods
Jamie Livingstone es un músico y compositor escocés afincado en Argyll, Escocia. Es el fundador y líder de Wild Gods, un proyecto de folk oscuro y post-punk con fuertes influencias de las notas sostenidas. Además, Livingstone es conocido por sus colaboraciones habituales con el popular productor de música electrónica y DJ escocés, Barry Can’t Swim.
A través de Wild Gods, lanzó su álbum debut, “The Glorious Abysmal”. El disco cuenta con la participación de la artista residente en Glasgow, Susannah Stark (voz, Night School Records, Stroom), quien canta tanto en gaélico escocés como en inglés. También colaboran el productor escocés Niall MacDonald, conocido como Blackboxx (bajo y coproducción) y la música Càit O’Neill (violín y voz). Livingstone está a cargo de la composición, guitarra, teclados, batería y letras, mientras que otros músicos invitados aportan gaitas, violines, acordeones, electrónica y samples.
Editado en julio de 2026 por el sello británico Wren Cathedral Records, “The Glorious Abysmal” consiste en siete bellas canciones fuertemente arraigadas en el folk celta, el drone, la psicodelia, la electrónica y el noise.
El álbum está influenciado por Vox Liminis, una organización artística con sede en Glasgow en la que Livingstone trabajó. Esta entidad apoya a personas que han tenido contacto con el sistema de justicia penal. Fue precisamente a través de Vox Liminis donde también Livingstone descubrió también nuevas herramientas para la producción musical.
En este álbum, Jamie Livingstone entrelaza voces angelicales y desgarradoras guitarras post-punk con bucólicos arreglos acústicos. Jamie Livingstone is a Scottish musician and composer based in Argyll, Scotland. He is the founder and frontman of Wild Gods, a dark folk and post-rock project with strong drone influences. Livingstone is also known for his regular collaborations with the popular Scottish electronic music producer and DJ, Barry Can’t Swim.
Through Wild Gods, he released his debut album, ‘The Glorious Abysmal.’ The album features Glasgow-based artist Susannah Stark (vocals, Night School Records, Stroom), who sings in both Scottish Gaelic and English. Also contributing are Scottish producer Niall MacDonald, known as Blackboxx (bass and co-production), and musician Càit O’Neill (violin and vocals). Livingstone is responsible for composition, guitar, keyboards, drums and lyrics, whilst other guest musicians contribute pipes, violins, accordions, electronics and samples.
Released in July 2026 by the British label Wren Cathedral Records, ‘The Glorious Abysmal’ consists of seven beautiful tracks deeply rooted in Celtic folk, drone, psychedelia, electronica and noise.
The album is influenced by Vox Liminis, a Glasgow-based arts organisation where Livingstone worked. This organisation supports people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. It was precisely through Vox Liminis that Livingstone also discovered new tools for music production.
On this album, Jamie Livingstone weaves angelic vocals and jagged post-punk guitars into pastoral acoustic arrangements. Through expansive electronic soundscapes, the record summons the rugged landscapes and rich lore of Scottish and Welsh folklore. Ultimately, it operates as a vessel for collective healing, bridging ancient Celtic roots with our contemporary place in community.
