Marta Mist
“Windows” evoca a las guitarras cristalinas de Dif Juz, con algunos guiños a And Also The Trees de finales de los ’80 y a las atmósferas etéreas de Scenic, del relanzado sello Independent Project de mediados de los ’90 y más recientemente a Zelienople.
El dúo afincado en Bradford, Reino Unido se formó en 2010 y se compone de Gavin Miller (también conocido como worriedaboutsatan) y Sophie Green (ex miembro de Her Name Is Calla), quienes combinan las guitarras atmosféricas, los colchones ambient e influencias del post-rock.
Marta Mist han publicado tres álbumes, tres EP, cuatro singles y dos recopilatorios en sellos como Time Released Sound, Hibernate, Sound In Silence, Heat Death Records, This Is It Forever y también han autopublicado.
“Windows” – publicado en septiembre de 2024 – es el cuarto larga duración de Marta Mist y el segundo para Sound In Silence después del álbum “Eyes Like Pools” de 2022.
“Allons-y, Mon Ami!” que abre el álbum muestra una guitarra ambiental inquietante y oscura con características cinemáticas, en tanto “Patches” introduce suaves golpes a la batería, líneas de bajo profundas y efectos deslizantes a la guitarra que continúan desplegándose en “Puzzle”. “Good Luck, Amigo” comienza con finos acordes de guitarra y batería con toques jazzísticos y pulsaciones de bajo.
“C’est Tout, Les Amis” cierra este disco con temblorosas guitarras con su aire melancólico y emotivo que Marta Mist plasma con delicadeza.
‘Windows’ reminds me of the crystalline guitars of Dif Juz, with some nods to And Also The Trees from the late “80s and the ethereal atmospheres of Scenic from the re-launched Independent Project label of the mid ”90s and more recently Zelienople.

Marta Mist have released three albums, three EPs, four singles and two compilations on labels such as Time Released Sound, Hibernate, Sound In Silence, Heat Death Records, This Is It Forever and have also self-released.
‘Windows’ – released in September 2024 – is Marta Mist’s fourth full-length and the second for Sound In Silence after the album “Eyes Like Pools” from 2022.
‘Allons-y, Mon Ami!’ which opens the album features haunting, dark ambient guitar with a cinematic mood, while “Patches” introduces gentle drum beats, deep bass lines and sliding guitar effects that continue to unfold on “Puzzle”. ‘Good Luck, Amigo’ begins with fine guitar chords and a drum with jazzy touches and bass pulsations.
‘C’est Tout, Les Amis’ closes this album with trembling guitars with their melancholic and emotive air that Marta Mist captures with delicacy.
