Nídia & Valentina
Nídia Borges aka Nídia Minaj es una productora afro-portuguesa y DJ afincada en Lisboa y Burdeos. En tanto Valentina Magaletti es una multi-instrumentista, productora, compositora e improvisadora ítalo-británica, afincada en Londres.
Nídia es asociada al colectivo y sello Príncipe y es promotora de la danza Kuduro, un tipo de música y baile que se desarrolló originalmente en Angola en la década de los ‘80. Ha recibido reconocimiento internacional con sus presentaciones en el Southbank Centre de Londres, Sónar, Lowlands Festival y el Red Bull Music Festivals, entre otros. En su álbum «95 Mindjeres» (2023) reivindica sus raíces mestizas de Guinea-Bissau y Cabo Verde y destaca el papel de las mujeres por la demanda de libertad de sus derechos.
Por su parte, Valentina Magaletti ha colaborado con artistas como Holy Tongue, Jandek, Thurston Moore, Mica Levi, Nicolas Jaar, Charles Hayward (This Heat), Graham Lewis (Wire) y Thighpaulsandra (Coil), entre otros ARTISTAS. Magaletti ha actuado en prestigiosas salas y festivales como Sónar, Lincoln Center, Unsound, Berlin Atonal, Le Guess Who?, Rewire, Cafe Oto, The Barbican y el Rijksmuseum de Ámsterdam, por nombrar algunos.
“Estradas” (“carreteras” en portugués) fue producido por Tom Halstead (Raime) e incluye nueve tracks en los que Valentina toca la marimba, percusión, batería, sintetizador, flauta y Nídia la percusión. La música de Nídia & Valentina tiene el aire primitivo a lo Schackelton y los grooves juguetones de Nicolás Jaar.
Ambas tienen una fuerte vocación experimentando con una amplio abanico de materiales, objetos y texturas electrónicas, con un pie en lo tribal y folk y otro en los sonidos abstractos, mostrando un despliegue polirítmico innovador.

Both artists have a strong vocation experimenting with a wide range of materials, objects and electronic textures, with one foot in tribal and folk and the other in abstract sounds, showing an innovative polyrhythmic display.
