Kacy Wiggins, aka Quiet Personal Electronics, es un artista que se ha ganado buena reputación en el circuito alternativo de Nueva York. Su propuesta no es ostentosa ni tampoco alude a los beats duros o al abuso de efectos en lo que se conoce en el hip-hop electrónico. Más bien lo de Wiggins es más sutil, sin aspavientos; beats suaves, atmósferas cálidas, elegantes, con una cadencia en los ritmos que no cae en lo predecible en este tipo de música.
Los arreglos son a base de diversos samples, guitarras, xilófonos, loops y órgano. Los catorce temas de este disco —de algo más de 44 minutos— se desenvuelven, además del hip-hop, en el downtempo y el ambient, fórmula bastante conocida en la música electrónica del último tiempo, pero Wiggins logra que su propuesta suene vigente, fundamentalmente porque no abusa de los trepidantes ritmos, sino de la melodía acogedora, el pulso gravitante de sus ritmos que no cesan de marcar el momento preciso para envolver al escucha en un placentero viaje.

Kacy Wiggins, aka Personal Quiet Electronics, is an artist who has gained good reputation in the alternative scene of New York. His proposal is not sumptuous nor eludes either to the hard beats or the effects abuse that are so common in hip-hop electronic. Rather Wiggins’s proposal is subtler, without smooth theatricalities, but warm beats, elegant atmospheres, with a cadence in the rates that does not fall in the predictable thing in this type of music.
The arrangements are with a variety of samples, guitars, xylophones, loops and organ. The fourteen cuts of this disc —with more than 44 minutes long— develop, in addition to hip-hop, into downtempo and ambient, which is quite well-known formula in the electronic music nowadays, but Wiggins achieve that his proposal sounds effective, mainly because he doesn’t abuse of the vibrating beats, but cozy melody, the heavy pulse of its rhythm that do not stop marking the right moment to surround the listeners into a pleasant trip.
