Randy Greif & Kenji Siratori, “Narcoleptic Cells”, Thisco, 2007
Tenemos aquí a dos personajes del underground, en la literatura y música el japonés Kenji Siratori, quien se inscribe en el género bizarro con una extensa producción literaria y de discos. Siratori es un conocido escritor cyberpunk y su prosa experimental y por otra parte, el norteamericano Randy Greif, quien desde mediados de los ’70 viene incursionando en la música electrónica, por computador y música concreta con el recitado.
“Narcoleptic Cells” comienza con la prosa de Siratori cuya voz está procesada electrónicamente, generando gran confusión sónica, en tanto lentamente empieza a emerger los raggas y drones de Greif, mostrando verdaderos mantras que sumergen al escucha en un mundo extraño, inquietante y oscuro.

We have here two renowned underground artists, in literature and music, Japanese Kenji Siratori, who belongs to the bizarre literature genre with a long literary production and audio dics. Siratori is a well-known cyberpunk writer and for his experimental prose and on the other hand, North American Randy Greif, who since the mid 70’s has been very active releasing tones of records in electronic music, computer generated sound, concrète music with spoken-word.
‘Narcoleptic Cells’ starts with Siratori’s prose and guttural vocalisations. His voice is electronically processed, generating a vast sonic confusion, in as much slowly begins to emerge raggas and drones from Greif, being shown real mantras that submerge the listener in a strange, unsteady and dark world.
