Up To 23
UP TO 23 es un dúo formado por los artistas sonoros italianos Marco Buffetti y Francesco Fincato en 2022. Buffetti es percusionista de formación clásica quien participó en proyectos de rock y jazz como batería y teclista. Por su parte Fincato viene de un background vinculado con el diseño sonoro.
“Hydor” – editado por el sello italiano Silentes – incluye ocho piezas dedicadas a la esencia del agua; ambientes relajantes como también tonos oscuros y tumultuosos.
Este álbum tiene un carácter ambiental inquietante con espacios de silencio y un carácter cinematográfico, con suaves percusiones que van marcando un tempo lento e infinitos drones. “Moho” despliega texturas electrónicas ruidosas como si estuvieran compuestas de polvo cósmico, junto al sonido prístino y brillante del xilófono (o similar).
“Skyclear” está encumbrado en lo alto que fluye por un corredor aéreo que continua su viaje en “Chome” con sus líneas ambientales sintetizadas.
En las dos últimas pistas, “Drownings Gods” y “Watery Clouds” el dúo cuenta con la colaboración del sonidista ambiental, artista sonoro y compositor Italiano Enrico Coniglio, quien crea un espacio amplio que se expande y evoluciona como un espiral que está destinado a un periplo hacia el infinito, acompañado de las titilantes vibraciones del xilófono.
UP TO 23 evocan paisajes sonoros que muestran al elemento agua esparciéndose con fluidez y cómo se torna ruidosa con sus rápidos torrentes que serpentean formando sinuosos caminos.
UP TO 23 is a duo comprised by Italian sound artists Marco Buffetti and Francesco Fincato in 2022. Buffetti is a classical trained percussionist who has participated in rock and jazz projects as a drummer and keyboard player. Fincato, on the other hand, comes from a background in sound design.
‘Hydor’ – released by the Italian label Silentes – includes eight pieces dedicated to the essence of water; calming atmospheres as well as dark and tumultuous tones.
This album has a haunting ambient character with spaces of silence and a cinematic mood, with soft percussions marking a slow tempo and endless drones. ‘Mould’ deploys noisy electronic textures as if composed of cosmic dust, alongside the xylophone’s (or similar) pristine, shimmering sound.
‘Skyclear’ is a soaring high that flows through an air corridor that continues its journey in “Chome” with its synthesized ambient lines.
On the last two tracks, ‘Drownings Gods’ and ‘Watery Clouds’, the duo has the collaboration of Italian ambient sound artist, sound artist and composer Enrico Coniglio, who creates a vast space that expands and evolves like a spiral that is destined for a journey into infinity, accompanied by the flickering vibrations of the xylophone.
UP TO 23 evokes soundscapes that show the element of water spreading fluidly, and how it becomes noisy with its rapid torrents that meander in winding paths.
