7697 Miles
Cristóbal Rawlins, más conocido como Raw-C, de Santiago de Chile y Dieter Mauson (aka Occupied Head) afincado en Hamburgo, Alemania, fundaron 7697 Miles (la distancia entre Hamburgo y Santiago) en 2016, publicando hasta ahora cuatro álbumes en Attenuation Circuit, el sello peruano Buh Records, Spomenik y la etiqueta española Wet Dreams Records que lanza su nuevo disco “Meli” en octubre de 2024. Han estado de gira por Chile (Santiago), Perú (Lima) Alemania, Holanda, Bélgica y Lituania.
Raw-C nace el 2012 con el interés de materializar las ideas sonoras que se basa en patrones rítmicos techno, publicando varios discos en solitario y en colaboración con otros músicos, además de apariciones en compilaciones.
Por su parte, Dieter Mauson comenzó en 1982 tocando el bajo en varias bandas de post-punk y no-wave de su ciudad natal y luego fue bajista, guitarrista y cantante en los dúos post-punk Nostalgie Éternelle (aún en vigencia) y Opfer Der Hingabe. También fundó el dúo electrónico Delta-Sleep-Inducing Peptide con otro amigo en 1989. En 1992, inicia su primer proyecto ambiental en solitario, Majestic Twelve y en 2011 crea su proyecto en solitario Occupied Head.
“Meli” es el cuarto álbum publicado por el dúo, compuesto por una recopilación de canciones grabadas en Alemania en 2016, así como en Chile en febrero de 2017 y Perú en mayo y junio de 2018.
Este nuevo disco navega en el subgénero ambient-techno que incluye las remezclas de Reantü y Aling. “Tinkukamuy”, que abre el álbum, lo hace con pulsaciones rítmicas que mantiene el ambiente expectante, junto a notas sintetizadas que acompañan al ritmo. “Allinyakuy” ofrece un ambiente calmo en el que flotan los pads aéreos del sintetizador. Continua “Choique Purrun (reantü mix)” con vibrantes ritmos que flirtean con el electro, al tiempo que sobrevuelan líneas ambientales. Finalmente, “Cobquecura (aling mix)” muestra que se sumerge por tranquilas aguas en un tempo lento, junto a una atmósfera vacilante de bordes oscuros.
7697 Miles crea en “Meli” un aura inquietante que cruza todo el álbum y que posee momentos hipnóticos y un ritmo envolvente que permite levitar en el.

Raw-C was born in 2012 with the interest of materializing sound ideas based on techno rhythmic patterns, releasing several solo albums and in collaboration with other musicians, as well as compilation appearances.
For his part, Dieter Mauson started in 1982 playing bass in several post-punk and no-wave bands in his hometown and later became bassist, guitarist and singer in the post-punk duos Nostalgie Éternelle (still going strong) and Opfer Der Hingabe. He also founded the electronic duo Delta-Sleep-Inducing Peptide with another friend in 1989 and in 1992, he started his first ambient solo project, Majestic Twelve, and in 2011, he created his solo project Occupied Head.
‘Meli’ is the fourth album released by the duo, consisting of a compilation of songs recorded in Germany in 2016, as well as in Chile in February 2017 and Peru in May and June 2018.
This new album navigates in the ambient-techno subgenre that includes remixes by Reantü and Aling. ‘Tinkukamuy’, which opens the album, does so with rhythmic pulsations that keep the atmosphere expectant, along with synthesized notes that accompany the rhythm. ‘Allinyakuy’ offers a calm atmosphere in which the aerial pads of the synthesizer float. Choique Purrun (reantü mix)’ follows with vibrant rhythms that flirt with electro, while ambient lines fly overhead. Finally, ‘Cobquecura (aling mix)’ shows that it dips through calm waters in a slow tempo, along with a wavering atmosphere of dark edges.
7697 Miles creates in ‘Meli’ a haunting aura that permeates the entire album, with hypnotic moments and an enveloping, levitating rhythm.
