Lynn Wright
Lynn Wright es un compositor, arreglista, cantautor y productor neoyorquino que desempeñó un papel destacado en la escena underground de su ciudad natal. Tras mudarse a Berlín a finales de 2022, ha colaborado estrechamente con el compositor y violinista británico Simon Goff, desempeñándose como músico, editor y asistente de composición en importantes proyectos de cine y televisión.

“Before The Sinking Plains” (“Antes de las llanuras hundidas”) —programado para editarse el 4 de septiembre de 2026 a través del sello berlinés Miasmah— es su primer disco en solitario. Grabado mientras Wright padecía una larga enfermedad neurológica, el álbum plasma ese proceso en una música ambiental melancólica, envuelta en capas de loops de guitarra y voces distantes que resuenan como un murmullo lejano.
“El Cabanyal” inaugura el trabajo con breves acordes de guitarra que se van hilando en una espiral de ensueño, mientras que en “Surely As The Sea” una línea ambiental sintetizada acompaña un canto cansino, triste y sumamente bello a la vez. Por su parte, “The Simple Keys Falling” se inclina hacia el dream pop con una guitarra cristalina y etérea que se extiende a “Morning Voices”, configurando un espacio sosegado y frágil que evoca la guitarra nostálgica de Vini Reilly.
La canción homónima cuenta con la participación de Simon Goff en el sintetizador y las texturas electrónicas de Ana Luisa Lee, las cuales elevan la voz celestial de Wright. Para cerrar, “At Last It Leaves You” (“Por fin te deja”) se presenta como una pieza liberadora frente a aquella dolencia ya superada; gracias a una música evocadora de atmósferas edificantes, la canción funciona como un catalizador efectivo para sanar.
Lynn Wright is a New York-born composer, arranger, singer-songwriter, and producer who for years served as a pillar of his hometown’s underground music scene. Since relocating to Berlin in late 2022, he has collaborated extensively with acclaimed British composer and violinist Simon Goff, contributing as a multi-instrumentalist, music editor, and assistant composer on high-profile film and television scores.
Currently, Wright channels his versatile musicianship into several cutting-edge avant-garde projects. He is the live guitarist and lap steel specialist for Insect Ark—the cinematic doom outfit helmed by Dana Schechter (Swans) and Tim Wyskida (Khanate). Additionally, he co-founded the dark ambient duo eiSou alongside producer Eric Hoegemeyer, performs with the Berlin-based free improvisation collective Molecular, and continues to spearhead his own art-folk vehicle, And The Wiremen.
‘Before The Sinking Plains’—scheduled for release on September 4, 2026, via the Berlin-based label Miasmah—is Wright’s debut solo album. Recorded while he was suffering from a long-term neurological condition, the album captures that vulnerability through melancholic ambient music shrouded in layers of guitar loops and distant, echoing vocals that mimic a faint murmur.
‘El Cabanyal’ opens the record with sparse guitar chords weaving into a dreamlike spiral, whereas in ‘Surely As The Sea,’ a synthesized ambient line cushions a weary, sorrowful, yet utterly beautiful vocal performance. The self-titled track features Simon Goff on synth bass and Ana Luisa Lee on electronic textures, both beautifully elevating Wright’s celestial voice.
