NicoNote
Nicoletta Magalotti mejor conocida como NicoNote es una poeta sonoro italiana-Austríaca, investigadora vocal en artes escénicas y participa mensualmente en “Syntonic”, su programa mensual en Radio Raheem. Desde 1996, está activa en los campos de la música, el teatro, las instalaciones artísticas, la radio y otras formas de arte. Su discografía se ha publicado en sellos como Rizosfera, Rough Trade, Music from Memory, Mille Plateaux, DSPPR, Cinedelic, entre otros.
“REGOLA” (regla en italiano) incluye nueves piezas inspiradas en la Abadesa polímata alemana del siglo XII Hildegard von Bingen (compositora, escritora, filósofa, científica, naturalista, médica y mística), que se acompañan de la voz celestial de Magalotti y las líneas ambientales sintetizadas expansivas y solemnes.
Las letras incluye textos originales de NicoMote inspirados a partir de textos de salmos e himnos de la antífona monástica Benedictina. Abre este álbum “REGOLA I” con una línea sintetizada algo oscura, mientras NicoNote canta para alcanzar las máximas alturas y evocar una Antífona para el Creador. “REGOLA II” se dedica a un canto a la Virgen María con un tono melancólico, en tanto “REGOLA III” tiene una halo misterioso que bordea el silencio cuyo texto dice: “Porque Dios hizo su marca en la primera mujer, para que la mujer se nutriera de la custodia del hombre”.
“REGOLA VI” despliega ritmos pulsantes junto a un acorde de guitarra con acercamientos a la new wave. “REGOLA VIII” se mueve en una atmósfera vibrante en la que NicoNote escribe: “[Mi alma] engrandece [el Universo]” y para finalizar, “REGOLA IX (Licht Vision)” relata un poema agradeciendo a la creación divina, a la naturaleza, al universo.

Her discography has been released on labels such as Rizosfera, Rough Trade, Music from Memory, Mille Plateaux, DSPPR, Cinedelic, among others.
REGOLA’ (Italian for “rule”) includes nine pieces inspired by the 12th century German polymath Abbess Hildegard von Bingen (composer, writer, philosopher, scientist, naturalist, physician and mystic), which are accompanied by Magalotti’s celestial voice and expansive, solemn synthesized ambient lines.
The lyrics include NicoMote’s original texts inspired by psalm and hymn texts from the Benedictine monastic antiphon. The opener ‘REGOLA I’ unfurls a dark synthesized line, as NicoNote sings to reach the highest heights and evoke an Antiphon to the Creator. ‘REGOLA II’ is devoted to a melancholy hymn to Virgin Mary, while “REGOLA III” has a mysterious halo bordering on silence whose text reads: ’For God made his mark on the first woman, so that the woman would be nourished by the guardianship of the man’.
‘REGOLA VI’ unfolds pulsating rhythms along with a guitar chord with a new wave approach, “REGOLA VIII” moves in a vibrant atmosphere in which NicoNote writes: “[My soul] magnifies [the Universe]” and finally, “REGOLA IX (Licht Vision)” narrates a poem thanking the divine creation, nature and to the universe.
NicoNote, inspired by the mysticism of the Benedictine Abbess Hildegard von Bingen, creates a profound music that feels poignant, together with the revealing texts.
